As I was headed home from work on a dreary Wednesday, I called my husband to see if he needed anything from the store. The first thing he said was "What do you want to hear first? The bad news or the good news?" I opted for the bad (it's best to ripe off the Band-aid in one quick motion, I've learned) I was told that he got laid off of work....one of the few set of words no one wants to hear, especially in this economical crisis. I can't even tell you what the good news was, it was that insignificant.
So, I became the "bread winner", not a good thing. We'll make due, I'm sure. The silver lining in the picture is that he's on his way back to college. I encouraged him to go and to use the No-Worker-Left Behind Program offered by Mich. gov. In fact I encourage all who can to use that program, it's a good one and it's free. Go to your local Mich. Works! center and they'll point you in the right direction.
I know a lot of people/ families are dealing with this same situation. The sudden loss of income and stability that comes along with a steady job/paycheck. I feel for all the families, I'm going through the same thing you are. And let me tell you, it sucks!
I'm very happy that my hubby's going to school. He needed something to focus on. A steady beacon of light, if you will. A goal to work towards. A degree.
I'm seriously thinking of going to school too. I need the outlet of education. The challenge it presents is tempting.
I'll be happy when the snow stops falling and the sun stays away from the clouds. When the rain heals the scars of winter's wrath. To see the flowers push away the hard earth, to brighten our souls and free our eyes of the blinding white winter brings.

Where is James going? What's he going to pursue?
He's going for electrical engineering, school unknown. He's got to find a school that will take his current credit hours already accumulated.
